Both Brenton and myself loved the experience up close with the dolphins and the seals. The tour guide was amazing explained everything you needed to know. We would highly recommend it.

What a great experience! The team worked hard to show us the sights while we waited for the dolphins to arrive and then when they did, the team made sure we had the best possible experience in the water with the pod. They made sure to fit in as much activity as possible during our time on the tour.

I was worried about the cold water... but it wasn't as freezing as I expected, and definitely worth it! Watching dolphins cruise by under the water helps take your mind off the temperature, and the wetsuits are also very helpful. Riding in the boat is fun by itself, but the opportunity to see wildlife from the water is just magic - even if the baby seal didn't want to come play with us, I enjoyed getting to watch it snoozing on a rock from water-level. Thank you for a memorable trip, it was definitely a highlight for us (and I REALLY enjoyed the hot shower when I got back to my hotel 😉). As another reviewer mentioned - when swimming with the dolphins, the tour uses a long line pulled behind the boat. You hold on to the rope and look down in the water to see dolphins swimming underneath. If you are a smaller person it might be helpful to jump out first so you can hold the end of the rope. Often people push down on the rope while keeping their heads above water, and if there's someone bigger/taller either side of you it can be hard to keep a grip on the rope - I found it was pushed down further than I could easily reach while floating on the surface. The solution for me was to move so I was holding on closer to one of the buoys attached to the rope and had a little more space between myself and the person in front.

Although Mother Nature wasn’t playing nice and the dolphins were less than interested in us (reckon even they thought the weather should’ve been warmer in November) and it’s the wrong time of year for seals in these areas. We still had an awesome experience. Elijah and Jason were fabulous guides. Fun, easy to talk to, passionate and knowledgeable. There’s never any guarantees as to how the wildlife will behave with these kinds of tours and every outing will be different. Even though we didn’t get the up close experience we’d hoped for, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely come back and do it again. Highly recommend.

Elijah and Jason were so knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Some of our group swam with the baby sea lions, then we all swam with the dolphins. Cold water, but wet suits were provided. We also saw eagles and amazing rock formations. Worth every cent. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts.

Josh and I (LJ) thought that this experience was one of the best things we have ever done, or probably will ever do in our lives. Elijah and Jason (also known as Eduardo and Pasquale) are such amazing, intelligent, informative guides. Their passion for explaining all about KI and the seals and dolphins was so thorough. They looked after everyone and knew exactly where to start the snorkelling. We were so lucky to find a group of very new baby seal pups. Elijah told us we could jump in and try to entice them to play. Jason helped us to get our breathing under control in the extremely cold waters. Once in we could swim up to the pups allowing them to explore us and swim around. Josh and I were super lucky to have a tiny pup and one of the large mum's come almost face to face under the water. Their big eyes stare straight into ours, it was magical. We were able to swim with them for ages!!! Next up we jumped back into the speed boat and were given wind breaker jackets! TIP: Bring a towel or two!!! These jackets are fantastic at stopping some wind but if, like us, you didn't bring a towel, your hands, face and feet will freeze to the point you cannot feel them!! We learnt this the hard way!!! If I was to do this again I would wrap a towel around the wetsuit after jumping out and then put the jacket over it. We then found a beautiful pod of 6 dolphins with their babies. We were able to jump out the boat and hold onto a long line with buoys that was dragged along the back. This allowed us to see the dolphins swim underneath the boat. Another tip: I jumped out early at this part as I struggled to hold the line as people tend to hold it really low in the water - but once back in the boat we got a much closer look at the dolphins coming back past us. I cannot thank you enough for making this day so amazing. P.s I hope your boss sees this just to know how valuable you are to this business. Hope to see you both again, Lj and Josh Traveller Tip: Bring a towel or two. Bring sunglasses if you are wind sensitive. Bring sandshoes instead of thongs for when you jump out the water back into the boat (cold sensitivity) Bring a very easy change of clothes for when you get out of the wetsuits. (It took me about 20 minutes to try to get leggings back on 🤣 ) Bring a camera or go pro if you are able! Sit at the very front of the boat like we got to do!

KI Ocean Safari offered easy access to jump onboard near Penneshaw, informative presenters who are safety concious before heading out on the waters to find resident dolphin pods and sea lions. Even in the chilli days, the experience was well worth it, quickly overcoming the initial shock of the cold waters in the provided wetsuits and wind blocking jackets. We saw a pod of around 7 dolphins and had a further swim among seals.
